Homeowners are expected to spend $1,200 on home improvement projects focusing mainly on outdoor spaces and bathrooms due to tight inventory and the fact that more than 25% of home owners nationwide are underwater on their mortgages.

To make the most out of their present surroundings, 60% of homeowners are planning to make a home improvement or addition this summer.

According to survey, some of the most popular home improvement projects are outdoor spaces and bathrooms. Younger homeowners and homes with children are more likely to plan three or more home improvements this year.
