The foundation and the air conditioning system are two major parts of the house that require serious attention during the hot season.

To prevent this, prepare for dry periods by soaking the soil 24 to 36 inches away from the outer walls, maintaining a significant distance between walls and trees, and cleaning out gutters and keeping downspouts 3 to 4 inches away from the house.

To keep your AC in check, be sure to replace air filters regularly, schedule regular tune-ups, fix leaks and gaps around windows and doors, and improve your home’s insulation.
